Processing Calves

When a new calf is born, we usually process it that day.  The processing includes tagging, banding (in the case of a bull) and a head start supplement to get them going.   Protective mothers can really make this interesting!

The Watering Hole…

Add a pond on your property and the fun you will have.  From catching awesome fish to all kinds of wildlife paying you visits.   We have a wonderful bald eagle that stops in for lunch every now and then.   I was playing around with my new drone and shot this footage.

The first step in becoming a proper cowboy is getting yourself a good, comfortable pair of boots.   If you are going to be in mud and cowsh#& all day long, you are also gonna need heavyduty!   I spent some time with the fine folks of Broke Dog Boots in Alva, Wyoming who taught me all I need to know at building boots and getting fitted properly.  Thanks to Jared and Floyd for the education and the fine company.   #Broke Dog Boots

bull

I will never forget my first encounter with our bull.  Well, I unintentionally cornered him in our barn and he had a little fun tossing me around like a rag doll.   Thankfully, there were no broken bones and I lived to tell about it.   I mostly owe that to my mother law who was quick to intervene and show that bull who he can and cannot mess around with!  You will hear much more about her and my other mentors in the future.  If it wasn’t for them, I would have never been able to fall in love with this wonderful life.

I have said so many times that I need to get my antics on video!   The GoPro arrives tomorrow and all I can say is, let the games begin!
